Knudaheio

Museum worker outside the gate of the red summer house Knudaheio, which renowned author couple Arne and Hulda Garborg found their peace and quiet amidst the majestic hills looking out on Jæren and the sea in the distance

The summer house of renowned authors Arne and Hulda Garborg are enshrined in both moving history as well as magnificant surroundings in which a nature walk is a must.

Haugabakka

The 1800s school Haugabakka is an example of a classic “Jærhouse” (Jæren is the region south of Stavanger) and a reminder of past building methods. No personell on site, but an outdoor exhibitoon (in Norwegian only) on the history of fur farmers in Klepp municipality, from the height of industry-popularity until the practice was outlawed in 2025.
