The Jærmuseet organisation is a regional science centre for South-Western Norway and also a regional museum for seven municipalities in Jæren, near Stavanger. Visit our facilities and find out about the history, culture and industry in Jæren, past and present!
Jærmuseet currently comprises two main branches: «Vitengarden» (the Science Farm) in Nærbø and «Vitenfabrikken» (the Science Factory) in Sandnes. Jærmuseet is also responsible for running several local museum facilities in various parts of Jæren. Our goal as a museum is to document and inform about the modern history of the region, and as a science centre we shall stimulate the interest for science and mathematics.
