When is the Science Farm open?

Ordinary opening hours:

Monday: 10.00-15.00

Tuesday: 10.00-15.00

Wednsday: 10.00-15.00

Thursday: 10.00-15.00

Friday: 10.00-15.00

Saturday: Closed

Sunday: 12.00-17.00

How much does it cost?

Children under 4 years old: Free

Children form 4 to 17 years old: NOK 75

Student: NOK 75 upon presentation of a valid student ID

Adult: NOK 145

Maxiticket: NOK 390 (2 adults + 3 children)

Please note: The ticket you purchase is valid for all Jærmuseet sites and Hå gamle prestegard on the same day.

Family annual pass: NOK 1100 (2 adults + 4 children)

Mini family annual pass: NOK 760 (1 adult + 3 children)

Grandparents annual pass: NOK 1000 (2 adults + 4 children)

Grandfather/grandmother annnual pass: NOK 700 (1 adult + 3 children)

Adult annual pass: NOK 450

Student annual pass: NOK 250

Child annual pass: NOK 250

Senior/concession annual pass: NOK 300

Note: annual passes are personal and can only be used by the registered cardholders. Valid for the immediate family. The annual pass is valid at all Jærmuseet sites and runs from date to date for 52 weeks.

Do I need to book tickets in advance?

You can buy admission tickets both online and at the reception when you arrive.

How do I get there?

Bus and train

From Nærbø station, you can walk or cycle approximately 1.5 km to Vitengarden. Plan your journey by train at vy.no or by bus at kolumbus.no.

Car

Vitengarden is centrally located off the main road in Nærbø, at Kviavegen 99, 4365 Nærbø. There is a large parking lot at the farm where parking is free for everyone.

Can I use a companion certificate?

Yes! People with a companion certificate enter for free, and the cardholder pays for a regular admission ticket. Welcome!

What can I eat at the Science Farm?

Take a breather from the exhibitions and activities in our café. We offer both hot and cold dishes for both adults and children. With our location right in the heart of Jæren’s food basket, and the café’s focus on homemade food made with local ingredients, you will leave the Science Factory happy and full.

It is possible to enjoy food and drinks outdoors on benches under a roof, right outside the café. Grills are also available for guests to use here. Charcoal can be purchased at the reception. Packed lunches can be enjoyed outdoors.

During school holidays and on Sundays, you must purchase an admission ticket to the Science Farm when visiting the café.

Good selection of gluten- and lactose-free options.

Is the giftshop open?

Our giftshop is open during all of the opening hours. Here you can buy toys, games, books, honey, and ceramics, among other things.

Is it possible to rent the Science Farm?

Yes, you can rent the Science Farm for everything from weddings to meetings or memorial services. We are located right in the heart of Jæren’s food basket, surrounded by beautiful Jæren nature and buildings featuring distinctive architecture. Yes! In collaboration with various partners in Jæren, we have put together exciting packages for groups looking for unique experiences and activities. Whether you are planning to gather for a few hours or a full day, we can help tailor the perfect program for you.

– Kindergarten, after-school care (SFO), and upper secondary school: NOK 30 per student
