Fjell"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-187d81fd-e488-4911-ab8e-280b383352d3\">Jagerflyger p\u00e5 1950- og 1960-tallet &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Knut T. Fjell ble f\u00f8dt i januar 1932. I 1950 startet han p\u00e5 Flyskolen p\u00e5 Lille Rygge. Etter \u00e5 ha kommet gjennom n\u00e5l\u00f8yet i Norge, ble Knut sendt til USA for \u00e5 utdannes til jagerflyger. Etter \u00e5 ha gjennomf\u00f8rt den element\u00e6re flytreningen med T-6 Texan gjennomf\u00f8rte han den avanserte delen av flytreningen med P-51 Mustang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Etter \u00e5 ha f\u00e5tt vingen i 1952 ble han sendt hjem til Norge hvor han fikk teknisk utdanning p\u00e5 Vampire p\u00e5 Gardermoen. Han ble deretter sendt til jettreningsvingen p\u00e5 Sola. Her fikk han typeutsjekk p\u00e5 Vampire utp\u00e5 ny\u00e5ret 1953. Etter oppholdet p\u00e5 Sola gikk veien videre til 337 skvadron p\u00e5 V\u00e6rnes som fremdeles var oppsatt med Vampire. I l\u00f8pet av tiden som Vampire-flyger p\u00e5 337 skvadron tilbrakte Knut flere lange perioder p\u00e5 Bardufoss hvor skvadron hadde en flight p\u00e5 permanent detachment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Knut understreker at flygeryrket var noe helt annet p\u00e5 1950-tallet enn hva det ble senere. P\u00e5 denne tiden bestod skvadronene jevnt over av meget unge flygere som ofte ikke var mer enn et par og tjue \u00e5r da de ble operative. Han forteller om forholdsvis frie t\u00f8yler som innebar at flygerne rett som det var kunne gj\u00f8re ting p\u00e5 eget initiativ, som han beskriver som gjort mot bedre vett. Knut trekker blant annet frem at han selv hadde en trang for \u00e5 fors\u00f8ke \u00e5 fly under bruer:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>(\u2026) jeg hadde det alltid med \u00e5 pr\u00f8ve ting. Kanskje p\u00e5 grensen til det som var veldig safe da. S\u00e5 hadde jeg g\u00e5tt og tittet p\u00e5 den brua i M\u00e5lselv. Den er ja, det er litt st\u00f8rre avstand mellom vannet og brua enn opp under taket her, men det var ekstremt lavt. (\u2026) Jeg la etter hvert en plan om \u00e5 fly oppover M\u00e5lselv og under den og trekke opp. Og det gikk jo fint, bortsett fra at jeg hadde feilberegnet litt. Den elvebredden p\u00e5 den andre siden var litt brattere, s\u00e5 der sa det ogs\u00e5 svosh.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Det var ikke noen skader p\u00e5 flymaskinen eller noen ting. S\u00e5 jeg fl\u00f8y tilbake til Bardufoss. Jeg sa jo ingenting. S\u00e5 kom crew chiefen min da og sier &#8211; du har l\u00f8v i luftinntaket, sa han \u2013 Ja, sa jeg &#8211; jeg fl\u00f8y under brua oppi her. Og noe mere ble ikke sagt. S\u00e5 husker jeg, det var en fredag. Da skulle det v\u00e6re fest p\u00e5 ungdomshuset p\u00e5 M\u00e5lselv. Og de fleste skulle dit, for det var ikke stort annet og drive p\u00e5 med. S\u00e5 var det en snakkis da. Og det var hvem som hadde fl\u00f8yet under brua. Og crew chiefen min sa &#8211; ja, han kommer snart, han som gjorde det. Og det ble et lurveleven uten like. Jeg endte opp med \u00e5 dirigere mannskoret husker jeg.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Da 337 skvadron ble nedlagt i 1954 ble Knut overf\u00f8rt til Flyskolen p\u00e5 V\u00e6rnes som instrukt\u00f8r. Etter hvert ble Knut ganske lei instruksjonsflygningen med Fairchild Cornell. &nbsp;I 1956 ble han etter eget \u00f8nske beordret til 330 skvadron som fl\u00f8y F-84G Thunderjet p\u00e5 Rygge. P\u00e5f\u00f8lgende \u00e5r ble Knut overf\u00f8rt til 332 skvadron som akkurat hadde byttet ut sine F-84G med F-86F Sabre. Som 330 skvadron var ogs\u00e5 332 skvadron stasjonert p\u00e5 Rygge. Her ble Knut med i the Flying Jokers som var skvadronens oppvisningsteam. I 1959 fikk Knut status som pr\u00f8veflyger og han ble del av operasjonsgruppen p\u00e5 Rygge. Ikke lenge etter fikk Knut sp\u00f8rsm\u00e5l om han var interessert i \u00e5 begynne \u00e5 fly transportfly i 335 skvadron. Etter \u00e5 ha vurdert saken, kom han frem til at det nok ville se fint ut \u00e5 ha v\u00e6rt innom flermotorsfly dersom han etter hvert skulle ut i sivile luftfart. Han endte dermed opp med \u00e5 fly C-47 og C-119 halvannet \u00e5r f\u00f8r han igjen vendte tilbake til 332 skvadron. Her fortsatte han \u00e5 fly F-86F etterfulgt av F-86K frem til han forlot Luftforsvaret i 1964.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Knut T. Fjell ble intervjuet av Sondre B.
