Den st\u00f8rste usikkerheten er at leveringen av fairingene (overgangen mellom ving og skrog) som ble bestilt for flere \u00e5r siden fra Ungarn er sv\u00e6rt forsinket, og det har v\u00e6rt usikkert om de ville v\u00e6re klare til tiden kom for \u00e5 sette vingene p\u00e5 flyet. N\u00e5 har vi endelig f\u00e5tt bekreftet at de skal v\u00e6re klare f\u00f8r utgangen av denne m\u00e5neden, s\u00e5 vi f\u00e5r h\u00e5pe produsent klarer \u00e5 holde det de n\u00e5 har lovet.<\/p>\n<p>Museet har som kjent samlet deler til 109-prosjektet i mange \u00e5r, og har etter hvert klart \u00e5 anskaffe det meste av deler som skal til for \u00e5 bygge opp flyet. Et tilbakevennende utfordring er at 109 ble bygget i mange versjoner, og med ganske mange ulike varianter av komponenter. Vi var sv\u00e6rt forn\u00f8yd da vi fant en oljetank til 109 p\u00e5 e-bay, og brukte mye tid til \u00e5 pusse den opp. Men da monteringen av motordekslene startet, viste det seg dessverre at oljetanken var beregnet for en versjon med en annen modell av motoren enn den vi har. Motoren som v\u00e5r oljetank er bygd for har en oljetank som er en tanke st\u00f8rre enn den som h\u00f8rer til v\u00e5r motor. Resultatet er at motordekslene ikke passer. Flyet har en lang historie. De fleste ved museet er antagelig klar over at den f\u00f8rste eier av flyet var Cathay Pacific i Hong Kong. Jeg fant for en tid side et gammelt bilde av flyet i Cathay Pacifics farger i biblioteket p\u00e5 museet.<\/p>\n<p>Det arbeides n\u00e5 med \u00e5 planlegge mottagelse av flyet, omlakkering, transport av flyet til flymuseet, som inneb\u00e6rer at den nye veien gjennom S\u00f8mmev\u00e5gen m\u00e5 krysses \u2013 noe som byr p\u00e5 endel utfordringer. Den har jo allerede v\u00e6rt museumsfly i mange, mange \u00e5r allerede. Det er ogs\u00e5 et annet, kjent luftfart\u00f8y som feirer jubileum i disse dager. Den kjente Sea King fl\u00f8y f\u00f8rste gang 11. mars 1959, da med betegnelsen YSH-3A. Sea King er riktignok kommet p\u00e5 museum i noen land, men det er nok enda flere \u00e5r til vi ser Sea King p\u00e5 et museum her hjemme i Norge.<\/p>\n<p>P\u00e5 det britiske Fleet Air Arm Museum i Yeovilton har Sea King allerede i st\u00e5tt p\u00e5 museum i endel \u00e5r. Her har man valgt et originalt fargevalg. Den siste tiden har Joppe lagt ned et stort arbeid med \u00e5 f\u00e5 registrert b\u00f8kene, og vi har n\u00e5 f\u00e5tt en oversikt over alle b\u00f8kene i biblioteket. For \u00e5 lette s\u00f8k i samlingen er bokregisteret n\u00e5 lagt ut p\u00e5 Venneforeningens nettside for medlemmer. I alt best\u00e5r boksamlingen av 1.600 titler, som kan l\u00e5nes av medlemmer som registrerer seg som l\u00e5ntagere og kvitterer ut b\u00f8ker. Et annet resultat av arbeidet i biblioteket er vi har identifisert et stort antall dubletter samt b\u00f8ker som ikke h\u00f8rer hjemme i et fly- og luftfartsbibliotek. Siden ettersp\u00f8rselen etter \u00e5 l\u00e5ne b\u00f8ker fra biblioteket er lav, har vi besluttet at vi normalt bare skal ha ett eksemplar av hver bok. Dermed har vi et stort antall b\u00f8ker vi ikke har behov for, som legges ut for salg. Joppe hadde noe kjennskap til historien, og p\u00e5tok seg \u00e5 grave litt dypere i saken.<\/p>\n<p>N\u00f8dlandinger p\u00e5 Refsnesstranden i 1940<br \/>\n11. april 1940 n\u00f8dlandet et skadet tysk Dornier Do 17P oppklaringsfly fra 1. <em>Staffel <\/em>(skvadron) av <em>Fernaufkl\u00e4rungsgruppe 120 <\/em>(forkortet 1.(F)\/120) p\u00e5 Refsnesstranden med to s\u00e5rede om bord, etter \u00e5 ha blitt truffet av luftvern. Den ene av de s\u00e5rede om bord var flygeren, <em>Leutnant <\/em>Siegfried Fidorra; den andre s\u00e5rede er ikke navngitt i den tyske tapslisten. Trolig var det treffere fra skipsluftvern som var \u00e5rsak til n\u00f8dlandingen. Under n\u00f8dlandingen p\u00e5 strangen ble det ikke andre skader p\u00e5 Dornieren enn det luftvernet allerede hadde p\u00e5f\u00f8rt flyet, som kunne ta av fra stranden igjen etter noen dager.<\/p>\n<p>Lt. Denne gangen endte flyet i sj\u00f8kanten og ble sittende fast i sanden. Pussig nok er ikke dette tilfellet \u00e5 finne i tapslistene, s\u00e5 datoen er ukjent. Men p\u00e5 baksiden av et av bildene st\u00e5r det juli 1940, og siden \u00e9n av personene p\u00e5 et av bildene (Lt. Heuer) ble borte p\u00e5 et tokt 20. juli, skjedde n\u00f8dlandingen trolig mellom 1. og 20. juli.<\/p>\n<p>Det ene bildet av flyet i sj\u00f8en viser at bladene p\u00e5 venstre propell er b\u00f8yd, noe som tyder p\u00e5 at n\u00f8dlandingen skjedde p\u00e5 \u00e9n motor. Det er da n\u00e6rliggende \u00e5 tro at flyet buklandet p\u00e5 stranden. Fors\u00f8kene p\u00e5 \u00e5 trekke Dornieren opp p\u00e5 land f\u00f8rte bare til at halen ble dratt av. Vingene ble hugget av og ble liggende i sj\u00f8en, men tyskerne klarte \u00e5 berge begge motorene. Etter et uv\u00e6r i 1976 kom den ene vingen frem fra sanden og for\u00e5rsaket endel avisoppslag, idet ingen da visste noe om det som hadde hendt p\u00e5 stranden.<\/p>\n<p><em>Fernaukl\u00e4rungsgruppe 120 <\/em>hadde base p\u00e5 Sola gjennom det meste av tiden 1940-1945, og besto kun av \u00e9n <em>Staffel<\/em>. Med sine oppklaringsfly hadde avdelingen til oppgave \u00e5 rekognosere i Nordsj\u00f8en, over mot Shetland, F\u00e6r\u00f8yene, Skottland og Orkn\u00f8yene, medregnet den store, britiske fl\u00e5tebasen Scapa Flow, og led store tap. Under kamphandlingene i Nord-Norge i april og mai 1940 rekognoserte 1.(F)\/120 ogs\u00e5 fra Trondheim og nordover. Det f\u00f8rste krigs\u00e5ret fl\u00f8y avdelingen Dornier Do 17P og Heinkel He 111H, men konverterte etterhvert til Junkers Ju 88.<\/p>\n<p><strong>M\u00e5nedens fly er fra Spanair<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Tekst og foto: Helge Nyhus<\/em><\/p>\n<p>EC-FVR er en McDonnell Douglas MD-83, med byggenummer 49574, som fikk navnet Sundance. Den ble levert selskapet 19. juli 1994. Flyet ble senere overtatt av Finnair som OH-LPF 20. juni 1997.<\/p>\n<p>Spanair startet med charterflyvninger, og i 1991 startet det opp langdistanseruter til USA, Mexico og Den Dominikanske Republikk. I 1997 kom destinasjonene Sao Paulo, Rio De Janerio, Buenos Aires og Havanna til. I 1994 startet de med innenriksflyvninger i Spania. I Norge var selskapet kjent for sin chartertrafikk. Selskapet var resultatet av et samarbeid mellom Viajes Marsans og SAS. SAS eide da 10,9 % av aksjene. Spanair hadde p\u00e5 sin side eierinteresser i Aerolinas Argentinas, og Spanair var medlem av Star Alliance. Gary var et avholdt medlem av Bibliotekgruppen, og gjorde gjennom flere \u00e5r en kjempeinnsats med \u00e5 sortere og holde orden p\u00e5 v\u00e5r samling av flyblader. Han var dessuten en usedvanlig hyggelig fyr som det var lett \u00e5 finne tonen med. Etter endt tjeneste der fant han etterhvert veien til oljeindustrien, og kom etter \u00e5 ha jobbet i en rekke andre land til slutt til Norge, hvor han slo seg ned sammen med familien.
